For its Emirates Skyward members, the airline needed an underlying platform for secure and convenient storage of members' payment data (credit, debit, alternate payment methods). The platform had to operate across both web and mobile, working effectively with the airline’s existing payments infrastructure. Emirates wanted to offer a seamless passenger experience across all channels, and also create options for rolling out future digital solutions.

SOLUTION

Link all existing data systems

CellPoint Mobile implemented its Commerce Orchestration Platform and infrastructure to link all existing Emirates data systems, create a user-friendly experience for passengers, and simplify checkout and payment processes for their stored card transactions.  The solution integrates data from seven disparate data systems and five separate payment processing channels into a single, integrated platform. It securely stores Skyward members’ card data and supports seamless ticket purchases and digital transactions across website, mobile web, call center and (in 2015) mobile app.

RESult

Cost reductions and efficiencies

Within 100 days of the project’s start, Skywards members’ digital wallet services were operational on Emirates.com; call center operations were added six weeks later. Emirates experienced cost reductions and efficiencies in several key areas including data streaming, workflow improvement, fewer server exchange challenges and increased number of sales channels.
