mTicketmTicket is designed for meeting enterprise requirements when mobilizing tickets, boarding cards, vouchers and travel cards. mTicket enables consumers with a mobile phone to order, revise and pay as well as receive forgery-proof admission tickets, boarding cards, vouchers and travel cards via their mobile phone. Tickets can be ordered, paid for and issued to every mobile phone uniquely, secure and unmistakable either as barcodes or as structured text codes, which may be scanned using standard OCR technology.

It is device agnostic and chooses the optimal ticket format and delivery channel for any given device in any given situation. Payment

mTicket supports a secure payment flow with full support for “1-click purchase” and without requiring pre-registration. The payment flow is specifically designed for use on the mobile phone sporting features such as: optimized input fields that only accepts relevant characters and providing seamless integration card storage. mTicket integrates any existing payment method including credit card payment, mobile operator billing or alternative payment systems. mTicket integrates with Payments Service Providers and can re-use existing PSP integration. It enables Mobile Operator Billing via new – or the re-use of existing SMS short codes or WAP payment applications, and it integrates alternative payment systems as “…just another interface”.

Delivery

mTicket delivers tickets and vouchers that enable both visual and machine inspection. Each ticket and voucher is unique, forgery-proof, and comes with an equivalent bar code if appropriate and required. Tickets may expire depending on time and date and/or after validation, both offline and online.

Functions

Barcode support allows tickets and boarding cards to be issued as both 1-D and 2-D barcodes in a variety of standard formats including: 

  • EAN-13
  • PDF-417
  • DataMatrix
  • QR
  • AZTEC

2-D barcodes such as AZTEC or QR may be generated based on common data format standards such as UIC 918-3 to ensure broad compatibility internationally.

Multiple delivery methods ensures that issued tickets may be delivered to all consumers:

  • As barcode downloaded into the Mobile App. or as an image from the Mobile Web.
  • As barcode delivered via MMS or EMS.
  • As barcode delivered as a downloadable image via WAP Push or link embedded in an SMS.
  • As structured text code delivered via SMS.

mTicket automatically selects the best delivery method for each consumer based on the mobile phone capabilities as well as delivery history.

Multi Channel Purchase Flow provides customers with a user friendly graphical interface accessible via the Mobile Web or Mobile App. Power users are offered a fast and efficient text based interface through SMS.
Advanced rebate structures provide customers with the normal incentive to prepay for their travels thereby improving cash flow. mTicket supports a number common rebate structures including:

OMA compliant DRM protection of all tickets and boarding cards issued as barcodes to prevent fraud by ensuring that consumers are unable to forward tickets to each other.
Intelligent Routing allows mTicket to connect to multiple ticketing systems (if applicable) and choosing the lowest price available. This feature allows merchant to issue tickets based on the “best” price which may be defined as one of following: 

  • The cheapest fare for the journey allowing the merchant to offer improved customer incentive for using mobile ticketing
  • The most expensive fare for the journey allowing the merchant to improve the margin by purchasing the ticket at the lowest available price and selling it at a higher price.
Automated Validation of issued tickets and boarding cards using standard barcode or OCR scanning technology maximises the efficiency of train / bus conductors as well as airport staff.
Offline validation through custom extension of standard scanning devices allows tickets and boarding cards to be validated even when there’s no data access.
Visual validation by complete control of the ticket or boarding card design and layout.
Full compatibility with “off the shelf” mobile and stationary scanners from mainstream vendors.
